Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base peps up skin beautifully

Clarins boosting complexion base

I’ve never been a huge fan of highlighters, because so many are just way too shimmery and leave me looking like I’ve been attacked with a vat of shimmer. Even worse, I tend to find they often enhance the problems areas that I’m trying to hide.

However, on a recent trip to my local department store I discovered Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Bases. Forget everything you know about traditional liquid highlighters, these are unlike any other I’ve used and I’m totally hooked.

Clarins is a brand that I truly love, but, for some reason, I always tend to overlook. Their products always deliver and are always a delight to use, and their complexion base is no exception.

The bases come in three shades, 01 Rose, 02 Champagne, and 03 Peach. They all have a beautiful soft pearlescent finish, and are suitable for all skin tones. They are subtle enough to use all over the face to ease dullness and brighten the complexion, or you could use them on top of makeup to highlight specific areas.

I used 01 Rose on top of my moisturiser and under BB cream and it left a beautiful healthy glow, while evening out my skin tone. As a sleep-deprived new mum, an application of this and I looked like I had had a good night’s sleep.

I love the texture of these too, which is as a light as a feather. They blend out flawlessly on the skin, without leaving any extra moisture, so it doesn’t feel like you are layering on too many products.

If you’ve got good skin and don’t need a foundation you could use these on their own with just a little bit of concealer to hide any imperfections. You could also mix it with foundation if you wanted to achieve a dewier finish.

Like all Clarins products, these are skin-loving too, with ingredients such as white tea and katafray bark extract which helps to sooth and hydrate skin.

I love the convenient pump applicator in a squeezy tube – meaning you can get every last bit of product out too.
